Build a slip, and see what it costs to place

Everything a betting site advertises is what it gives you. The number that decides whether you are ahead over a year is what it keeps, and no book in this market puts that on a banner. Choose the books you would use, put in a realistic month of turnover, and the page does one multiplication with figures those books published themselves.

Books on your slip
Margins are not all measured the same way and the basis is printed under every figure. A top-flight-only figure and an all-competitions figure are two different quantities.

The model, in full

Five criteria, weighted, on a scale of 100. A criterion a record cannot answer is not scored, not defaulted, and drops out of both sides of the average. The share of the model that could be answered is printed under every name on the slip, because a score computed over part of a model and a score computed over all of it are not the same number.

Why this is not called an RTP Index

The design brief for this publication asked for an index of return to player, 0 to 100. There is no such index here and there is no honest way to build one. Not one record in this market's fact base carries a return figure for a single game at a single bookmaker, so an index of returns would be an index of nothing wearing the name of something.

What the scale actually holds is a weighted average of cash out speed, lobby size, offer value, support and licence. It keeps the shape the brief asked for and takes a name the arithmetic can carry. The thing the brief was reaching for gets a column of its own, empty, on every line of the slip, with the instruction that fills it.

Who gets a line

The rule

The slip is built around Aviator, so a book without it is not here. Returns are read off the panel inside the game, never off the tile.

seven of thirteen live books clear it. Ties are broken on the heaviest criterion a record can answer rather than alphabetically, so a book cannot win a tie on this slip by being unremarkable everywhere. The refusals, with the reason for each.

What these books actually price

17 sports appear across the slip: american football, basketball, boxing, cricket, esports, football, formula 1, ghana premier league, handball, ice hockey, mma, table tennis, table tennis, tennis, virtual sports, volleyball and efootball. The widest published list belongs to BetFox, at ten entries. Breadth is not depth and this site does not pretend otherwise: a book carrying ten sports and pricing nine of them thinly is not a better book than one that prices football sharply.

BookmakerPriced sports on the recordMarginBasis
MSport football, virtual sports, esports, basketball and tennis unpriced no price anybody could read
Wiwi Casino none recorded unpriced no price anybody could read
Soccabet football, ghana premier league, table tennis and american football 5.12% all ten Premier League matches on the operator's own coupon
betPawa football, basketball, efootball and tennis 5.08% 860 football events carrying a full-time 1X2 market, crawled from the operator's own site
SportyBet football, basketball, tennis, efootball, table tennis and ice hockey 6.12% 491 football matches on the operator's own Ghana pricing feed, every tier
Betway football, basketball, tennis, cricket, boxing and esports around 9% two La Liga fixtures on one weekend, taken from an aggregator because the book served no odds
BetFox football, basketball, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, handball, ice hockey, boxing, mma and formula 1 4.21% eight mainstream 1X2 markets read in a browser on the live Ghanaian site

What this desk has not done

Nobody here has opened an account in Ghana, made a deposit, or timed a withdrawal. Every cash out figure on this site is a bookmaker's own claim or a third party's published one, and it is labelled as such wherever it appears. The counted lobby on the slip belongs to BetFox, at 690 slots, and it was counted by reading the operator's live site rather than by playing anything.

The research behind these fourteen records also threw out 110 figures that circulate about these brands and could not be stood behind. Each bookmaker's page says how many of those were rejected on its own record and what kind they were, without repeating any of them.

About the method

Why is the scale not called an RTP Index?
The Slip Index is a weighted average of five criteria, printed on the same 0 to 100 scale the design asked for. It is not a return-to-player figure and is never used as one. An index of returns built out of no returns would be a claim about real companies that the data underneath it cannot support.
Does the builder predict what I will win?
No. It multiplies two published numbers: the share of turnover a book keeps, and the turnover you tell it. That is a price, not a forecast, and it is the same whether you win or lose on the day.
Why do some books show no margin at all?
Because nobody could read a price from them. two of the seven lines are in that position, and a book that publishes no price is shown as unpriced rather than as expensive. An unknown is not a zero and it is not a maximum.
Has anything on this site been tested with real money?
No. No account was opened, no deposit was made and no withdrawal was timed by this desk. Every payout figure is what a bookmaker or a third party published, and every margin was computed from prices those bookmakers put on public pages.
